Eva Week 1- Who Needs Meat?

Image
I'm a big veggie burger person. Very big. It’s been my favorite food since 7th grade. But when I say my favorite food is veggie burgers, that doesn't really count. There is so much variety and each type has a completely different flavor. So what are my top 10 favorite veggie burgers?      I would have to say my all-around favorite is the Dr. Praeger’s California Veggie Burger . When I picture a veggie burger in my head, that’s the one I’m thinking of. It is very veggie-oriented which is one of the reasons I love it so much, along with its consistency and great pairing with cheese. This is often what you might get when ordering a veggie burger from a restaurant (unless the burger is specifically a meat-pretender*). A slight downside is the excessive amount of unblended peas.      Next would be Amy’s Organic California Veggie Burger . This is definitely more of a mushroom and grain based burger. It is a great ...

Aaron Mibab 1: Streaming Wars

Image
ADs, Price, Content, Choices. Long ago, these four issues were the concerns of cable TV but everything changed when streaming attacked. Only Netflix, master of all four elements, could fix them. WRONG! Netflix was not the first streaming service. Youtube was one of the first streaming services to gain recognition. Although Netflix is older than youtube, its existence prior to youtube cannot be counted because it did not stream its content over the internet. Many of the positives that I see of streaming content (tv or movies) fixed the presented issues; content and choices were what you desired without ads or high prices.  Due to the money in streaming content to users, in 2018-2020, companies began removing their content from primarily Netflix or other places. Companies began consolidating their content on streaming services being actively released. I remember watching a youtube video in 2020 explaining the negatives of this “streaming war” that has just begun and its pre...

Sophia Week 1- Why The Batman is the Best Superhero Movie to Come Out in 2022

It seems that nowadays, every movie that comes out is another superhero movie. In this last year alone, five superhero movies have been released (with more to come), and this isn't including the eight tv shows that premiered or released a new season! With the amount of superhero media coming out, its quality has been deteriorating. Many of these shows and movies have disappointed me, and unwilling to keep up with new content. Movies like Morbius and Multiverse of Madness have left me disappointed and with low hopes for future content. My feelings and ideas are reflected by reviews left on these movies, expressing confusion and disinterest . Comparing this to the passionate responses that classic superhero movies like Iron Man or The Dark Knight had, shows just how disinterested audiences are. Viewers are searching for content that provides fresh takes on their favorite characters. The Batman is the best superhero movie to come out in 2022 because of its new take on the charac...

Rebecca Week 1 - Music in Moments

Image
Music is made up of different sound waves performing together. No one cares about that. As people, we enjoy listening to and making music (unless you don’t, then you’re crazy). This is a trait people have shared for around 30,000 years; this number changes depending on the source .  According to this article, music can help you relax, be more productive, and even save a life. With apps like Spotify, Youtube, and Apple Music, it’s so easy to have access to music. I listen to music while doing schoolwork, robotics, driving, and almost everything else. As I’m writing this, I am listening to a more upbeat playlist to keep myself on topic. In general, when I write, I listen to my heavier playlist , when I read, I listen to movie soundtracks , and when I study, I listen to Lo-Fi .   I’ve found that music really helps me focus because it serves as a form of non-visual entertainment. With that as my reasoning, you could say I should listen to more podcasts, but they have more of...

The Problem with “Newer” Marvel Projects

Image
Holden Leder Week 1 The Problem with “Newer” Marvel Projects Since Avengers: Endgame , with the exception of some Marvel projects, newer MCU films and shows have not been as glorious as the original and notorious films. Films like the Eternals and Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness, though containing excellent CGI, do not have the same spark and storylines as films like Thor: Ragnarok and Captain America: The Winter Soldier . My biggest issue with these films is the constant mentioning and endless obsession with the events of Endgame . For example, Eternals mentions Thanos and the events of Endgame so many times it seems lazy that the film’s writers can’t come up with something new to talk about. I don’t mind a subtle mention of a character or event from another project, such as the one mention of Tony Stark technology in The Winter Soldier , but too many cross-references water down the storyline of the movie itself. As far as action, WandaVision, the MCU’s first television show, h...
