Apple TV+'s For All Mankind:

For All Mankind - Rotten Tomatoes

The United States won the space race to the moon, right? Wrong! In Apple TV+'s For All Mankind, the United States lost the race to the moon. So what happens now? Well, NASA's budget is overhauled, space becomes the nation's top priority, and with consistency, the United States and the Soviet Union still hate each other. Over the course of three seasons, and still ongoing, Apple takes viewers through what they believe would be the diverging path if the United States lost to the moon. To do this divergent part of history, each season is sped up between one and two decades. Although I will be slightly spoiling the show, without revealing specifics, here was how the seasons were broken down. In season one, the primary focus over the course of the episodes was on the rescue of the Apollo 24 mission, with a significant end-of-season post-credits scene of a colony being flown to the moon. The second season fast forwards to a period of time in which their are moon colonies being operated by both the United States and the Soviet Union, and explores some conflicts that arise with the moon colonization. The most recent third season moved even further in time (roughly two decades), to where now NASA, the Soviet Space Agency, and a new private venture are all competing to step foot on Mars. For those who enjoy historical and science fiction, this show covers all areas of being historically logical, with event not playing out in some new and dramatic fasion, and not being overly far fetched with the science. Have you ever though about watching this show, or have you seen it already and had some thoughts on it?

  1. My dad loves that show, but I have only seen bits and pieces of it. Maybe I should start watching it on my own.
