Ava Week 10 - An Eventful Thanksgiving
My Thanksgiving was far from boring. In fact, it was a mix of awkward, alarming, and hilarious. And, of course, delicious! My dad, stepmom, and sister along with our cousins ate at the Thanksgiving dinner served by our neighborhood clubhouse. I sat next to my favorite cousin Ella, who is a hilarious seven year old. I was immensely enjoying my stuffing (my favorite Thanksgiving food), when a man at another table began to have a heart attack! We watched in alarm as the man was carried away by the ambulance. While this was going on, my family was also dealing with some awkward drama, which started when my cousin's fiance whispered right before the family photo, "Are you sure I should be in the photo? What if things don't work out?" This definitely caused tension between them and others the rest of the night, but Ella and I decided to remove ourselves from the drama and enjoy a wonderful meal of turkey and pumpkin pie. My stepmom, Dayana, chose to be unproblematic as well, due to her very drunk and goofy state (however it was a bit of a problem how loud she was being). As we were driving from the clubhouse, she even blasted her favorite artist Bad Bunny, dancing and singing the lyrics with my dad. Dayana screamed the last song before we got home, Bohemium Rhapsody, so loud that my neighbor texted me to see what was going on. Ella came home with us to sleepover and found a baby lizard in the pool. Without hesitation, she walked right in and saved it. We named him Stripey, and Ella quickly fell in love with him. She was close to tears when we had to part ways, but I assured her we would come back to him in the morning. Believe it or not, Stripey was there waiting for us the next day! Overall, Thanksgiving was entertaining and I'm glad I got to spend it with my favorite cousin. What did you do on Thanksgiving?
That sounds like a very crazy Thanksgiving! I hope the man who had a heart attack is ok and I'm glad you still had fun.
