Hudson Gray Week 5 - My First Job
My First Job
A couple months ago after my friend got his license, he started a job as a delivery driver for an Italian restaurant in East Boca. I thought this was very cool and it made me wonder if I could do the same thing when I got my license. Last year, I already had interest in finding a job, so I inquired about any openings at my golf club. Unfortunately, they told me to email back in October. Before I had a chance to get in touch with them again, my friend texted me to see if I might be able to assist the restaurant by serving as a delivery driver. Since this would be my first job and I knew my friend did well, it was really exciting for me. I replied to him right away and said I would be happy to do it. The next night, I trained with him and he taught me how to do everything, although the job is pretty much as easy as it sounds. I have now worked four times on my own and I enjoy it a lot. The restaurant has a positive environment and is frequently busy, especially as the season changes. I work on Mondays, Fridays, and occasionally Saturdays. As you can expect, Fridays and Saturdays are much busier than Mondays. This past Saturday I had four deliveries which was good because most of them were nearby. Unfortunately, I had no deliveries tonight compared to the two I had last Monday. Overall, I've really enjoyed this new experience so far and I'm thrilled for it to continue. Do any of you guys have jobs?

I like working too. It feels good when I make my own money (even if it's minimum wage).
ReplyDeleteOh, woah, that sounds like a really cool job! I just recently got a second job, working as a busser at a deli in Boca called Ben's. I originally had a job at Walgreens, and I worked there for almost a year. (I like working-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a job like this just as a side-hustle, sounds like you're loving it! It's always great to have working experience in high-school just to get a taste of what life will be once we get our degrees and actually start working.
