Johnys Week 3: DJ Khalid is Trash!
DJ Khalid has oddly become one of the most famous figures in the music industry. With his well-known name, you would think that he did something to become this sensation. I mean, he does have “DJ” in his name, but has anyone seen him performing behind a turntable before? Nope. He releases albums, but does he perform on any of his songs? Nope. He has the industry's biggest artists on his albums, so does he produce the songs and then get other artists to perform on them? Nope. So the question leaves to be, what is he?
DJ Khalid is nothing but a name. He doesn’t contribute anything to the music industry apart from screaming his name in different ways on every song. Many assumed that him shouting “DJ Khalid!” or “We the best!” on every song was a producer tag of sorts, yet he doesn’t even produce his own songs. Every year, he builds excitement to the Rap audience by announcing a new album with an absolutely stacked feature list with some of the industry's most popular and loved artists. With every year, we get disappointed with a terrible project. This isn’t always the artist's fault, as there may be a few good songs on the album, but then they get ruined by DJ Khalid's aggravating shouting. He just constantly yells through an entire song, absolutely killing every song's potential. It’s mind-boggling, knowing that he’s made millions just by screaming on songs with big artists. He hasn’t contributed anything musically to any of his songs, he simply gets other producers and artists on songs, screams on the tracks, and then releases it under his name.
He is without a doubt the biggest disgrace in the music industry and doesn’t deserve a bit of respect for what he does. Apart from yelling his name, he brings nothing to the music industry and its audience. DJ Khalid is a pointless figure in music, and there isn’t a single reason that could explain how he became this prominent.
I've never listened to his music before and you have a compelling argument of why I shouldn't.
ReplyDeleteIf I have listened to a song he “produced”, I do not remember it. Your argument gives me a good reason to not listen to his music to see if I recognize any of his songs.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that an artist could cause so much tension in the industry. Thank you for giving me another reason to avoid his music other than it being in a genre I don't enjoy listening to.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for spreading info about this topic, I'm pretty bad at picking apart artists that are controversial or have done sketchy things. I'll keep this in mind if I'm listening to a song with his name on it.
