Week 3

My Goals for the RHS Signature Business Program:

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania

University of Michigan Ross School of Business - Supply Chain 24/7 Company

During the summer of 2021, I received an email from Mrs. Joseph titled "Business program." She had contacted me asking for input on setting up an established business program in the high school, that would rank next to the Pre-Med and FAU Engineering signature programs. We met a few weeks later to discuss what it could potentially look like, and the implications for the program given Covid-19 was much more rampant than it is today. I decided to bring on a partner to help me run this infant program, and our first year was a major success. Even with the limitations of Covid, we were able to bring in 9 speakers with a combined business value or assets under management of close to $7 billion! Although bringing in business leaders as speakers was a great success, we had to turn back to our original goal of creating an affiliation with a business school. We originally thought FAU's business school would be our choice, however, Mrs. Joseph and I wanted to see if we could find a more well-known school. While at a summer program at the Wharton School of Business, I tried to see if they would be willing to create an affiliation with our program, but they didn't offer exactly what we were looking for which was access to a professor network that could come and teach our group a lesson in some area of business. Now, we are trying to see if Ross Business School at the University of Michigan would be willing to work with us, but that is still up in the air. Either way, with or without an affiliation, my team and I have come up with some cool ideas for our students, like creating a Shark Tank project, or maybe trying to raise money to host Bloomberg's Market Certification course. If you are in my business program, do you have any other ideas we could possibly look into?

  3. This business program was definitely successful and I think doing some projects like shark tank would be great. I am working on helping you get in touch with Ross.
